healthy eating options in School Vending Machines
You know, childhood obesity is a very serious issue and it is one that really needs tackled today instead of tomorrow. As a result of this pressing national issue there is actually someone that has taken that step and come forward with a great idea on how to tackle the problem of childhood obesity right at the core of the problem. And that is YoNaturals - Healthy Student Vending. They think that schools can do their part by offering up some healthy choices in the vending machines that are in schools everywhere. They even have a nice little 7 step guide to help the schools along. I think that it is awesome that they are doing this! Why not check them out and see if you agree!

Expressing Women’s Wisdom in the 21st Century
I discovered an interesting upcoming conference for and about women.

It happens from September 12, 2008 - September 14, 2008 at Rhinebeck Campus: Rhinebeck, NY (US). There is a cost - Tuition: $335 (does not include accommodations or commuter fee) and it is called Course: SM08-4502-308. And no tuition discounts are not available.
Part of the description reads:
In keynote talks and workshops, we awaken our bold spirits, strengthen our belief in our innate wisdom, learn new skills, and discuss how women are redefining courage all over the world.
I am not affiliate with this, just thought it was interest. Get more info at their website.

A Gay Man Has Sued Bible Publishers
A gay Michigan man is apparently tired of the bigotry and intolerance of the Bible. So, what is he doing about it? Well, he’s actually suing two Bible publishers over the inclusion of passages that call homosexuality sinful.
Which publishers are the target? They are Tennessee-based publisher Zondervan and Michigan-based Thomas Nelson Publishing.
He is seeing punitive damages of $60 million from Zondervan and $10 million from Thomas Nelson. The basis for the lawsuit is that:
“… the Biblical references have made him an outcast from his family and have contributed to physical discomfort, “demoralization, chaos and bewilderment.”
The lawsuits also blames the publishers for causing “me or anyone who is a homosexual to endure verbal abuse, discrimination, episodes of hate, and physical violence … including murder.”
I see this being a future episode of Law & Order. And this poor guy is going to lose a lot of money. And it seems to already be hurting more than helping.
Check this out from 365Gay.com:
“As frivolous as this case may sound, it’s an indicator of where the homosexual agenda is headed,” said Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst for Focus on the Family Action.
“Ten years from now, this type of case won’t be humorous at all; we’ll see organizations like the ACLU dedicating resources to them because such ‘language’ will no longer be considered protected speech.”

I don’t text
I have a cell phone. It is basically a use only when needed item. I don’t have a text messaging plan. I don’t text. I don’t get it. I don’t know why people feel the need to do so. And I really wish they wouldn’t while they are driving.
