Frameline

Frameline, aka the San Fran gay film fest, deadline is coming nigh. I am sending off Drawing on Walls (…and other socially dictated signs of deviant behavior), because I still believe it is a good film, and also because I need another rejection for purposes of tempering my armor. Financially, it would be wise to put this money toward debt reduction, but that doesn’t exactly move us forward, now does it?

So, alas, we spread our dollars to the wind once again, and hope that one of them lands in fertile soil and sprouts a lovely money tree. Of course, just getting the actors a copy of the film would be a success at this point. Maybe I’ll get that done some time this season.

The Editing Script

The way that the script was originally written and the way that I ended up cutting the film together after viewing the footage are vastly different. In the original, the action all occurred in chronological order. When I went to edit, I realized that breaking up the beginning and creating memory-type flashbacks were better for viewing. It gave the movie a more active feel and made a nicer mix of the drama and comedy. If you’ve already checked out the shooting script, now you can check out the editing script and see the differences.

The Original Screenplay

The original screenplay used for the filming of Drawing on Walls (…and other socially dictated signs of deviant behavior). For the actual shoot, the script was laid out by day, in filming order, but all of the changes to this order during filming made that layout pretty inaccurate.

The script of this film is definitely an artistic rambling. Some may even take offense at the depiction of people content with everyday life as mundane and conforming. However, if you are a creative person trying to survive this very routine world, you will relate.

Find the original script here.

Drawing on Walls, the movie

The movie page is still here. It has just been shifted to the sidelines. It’s kind of like a special team in football. It’s had its time, it served its purpose, and now it must make way. If you want to visit Drawing on Walls, the movie, do not fret. Please go here.
